Celebrating the Art of Life

One of The First’s longstanding traditions is a rotating, gallery-style art display in the lobby of our Main Office in Hutchinson. We’re proud to support our local and regional culture by showcasing the work of students, amateurs and professional artists from near and far.

June/July - Birger Sandzén

First National Bank of Hutchinson is privileged to host an exhibition by world-renowned artist Birger Sandzén, on loan from the Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery, Lindsborg, KS. The eleven pieces on display encompass a variety of media and subject matter, showcasing his remarkable talent.

Birger Sandzén was born in Blidsberg, Sweden in 1871 and moved to the United States in 1894 where he settled in Lindsborg as an instructor at Bethany College. Though he traveled extensively throughout his lifetime and taught at various educational institutions, he most valued his time in the middle of Kansas.

The Sandzéns are located in the lobby of the Sherman & Main location on The First through the end of July.
