Celebrating the Art of Life
One of The First’s longstanding traditions is a rotating, gallery-style art display in the lobby of our Main Office in Hutchinson. We’re proud to support our local and regional culture by showcasing the work of students, amateurs and professional artists from near and far.
August/September - Carol Long
The First is honored to host an original framed tile display from local artist Carol Long. Through the month of September, this ceramic tile exhibit will be featured behind the teller counter in the lobby of the Sherman & Main Street location of First National Bank.
Long’s work has been featured at various galleries, including the Strecker-Nelson Gallery (Manhattan, KS), Bella Luz Studio (Wichita, KS), and the Courtyard Gallery (Lindsborg, KS).
In addition to framed tile, Carol’s pieces range from ceramic animals, to vases, bottles, and lidded jars. She finds influence from plant and animal life while seeking to capture the tiny aspects of nature, often pulling inspiration from reflections of life on a Stafford Country, Kansas farm.
The lobby is open Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., except for holidays. For a list of observed holidays click here.
