Best Practice: Update Browsers and Mobile Devices
Coming soon, many websites will no longer support TLS 1.0. At The First, we urge customers to make sure they are accessing the banks website and Electronic Banking with updated browsers and operating systems.
Why the change? Industry standards have determined the security protocol referred to as Transport Layer Security 1.0 (TLS 1.0) which is used to provide privacy and data integrity between two communicating applications can be susceptible to security vulnerabilities. Soon, TLS 1.1 or higher will be the standard in website security.
Please make sure you are using up to date browsers (like Firefox Version 28 and higher, Internet Explorer Version 11 and higher, Google Chrome Versions 30 and higher, Safari 8 and higher) and operating systems (like Android 4.4 and higher and Apple IOS 5 and higher) to access Electronic Banking.
